Tuning into Your Frequency 🐚
“Your feelings aren’t a problem you’re supposed to ignore or fix. They’re feedback from your body & nervous system about how you’re doing & what you need in life.
Try to tune in, not out.
It took me a long time to realize that healing doesn’t mean I’m getting strong enough to put up with anything - It’s that I no longer want to be a person strong enough to put up with anything.
How do I know how I feel?
Feelings are the feedback from your body about your physical & emotional state! They tell you how you’re doing & what you need.
Sad, hungry, hot, sleepy, happy, cold, excited, achey, lonely, nervous, irritable, thirsty, content, relaxed, scared, overwhelmed, alert, need coffee.
Being sensitive is human!”
Slowing down helps us tune in to how we really feel. Our feelings don’t have to define us. Feelings are information & if we get too attached to them - we can feel exhausted. Pamela Miles says Reiki helps us to “be in relationship with our minds, instead of thinking we are our minds.” And another awesome way I’ve heard Reiki described is that typically we’re tuned into many different channels (think social media, literal tv, busy city life) & when you receive Reiki - you tune into yourself - the highest, grooviest, trippiest, most beautiful energetic frequency.
A few other simple tips for when you can’t book a Reiki session, or attend a group:
🐚Box Breath: exhale via mouth for 4 counts, inhale through your nose for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, exhale out mouth for 4, repeat for 5 minutes.
🐚Engaging Senses: take your time applying a lavender or rose scented lotion (any scent will do! just suggesting some of my faves) to your hands, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
🐚Reiki-lite: even if you aren’t attuned to Reiki, you can still incorporate healing touch. Place both palms over your heart, and focus on sending your breath into your chest, and into your arms imagining your heart energy as an expansive glowing green light. Bonus points for listening to a chill playlist while doing this.
